Tanginath Dham, Gumla

Tanginath Dham is a remote and ancient Shiva shrine located in the Dumri region of Gumla district, Jharkhand, set atop a quiet hill surrounded by dense forests. Known for its deep mythological roots, the site is believed to be associated with Lord Parashurama, whose sacred axe (tangi) is said to remain embedded here for centuries without rust.

Spread across an open archaeological landscape, the site holds hundreds of scattered Shivlings and stone idols of various deities, reflecting a long-lost temple complex dating between the 7th and 12th centuries.

Beyond its history, Tanginath carries a raw, untouched spiritual presence — where faith exists not within walls, but across stone, silence, and sky.
